Description
The primary focus of our research is to determine the neural circuitry and molecular pathways that connect metabolism and the neuroendocrine system. Our objective is to understand the mechanisms by which metabolic imbalances, like those seen in obesity and diabetes, disrupts the neuroendocrine function.
In our research, in addition to internal factors we also explore the relationship between external environmental signals that modulate the neuroendocrine systems. This focus gives us an awareness of our surroundings and a sense of responsibility to ensure our lab operates in an environmentally friendly manner.
