Janssen Lab

Dr. Erin Janssen’s lab specializes in Pediatric Rheumatic conditions, specifically the study of rare mutations in Dock 8 and other genes. As a new lab start up in 2023, we took advantage of many great programs on campus including the Lab Reuse Program and lab swap events allowing us to reuse older equipment donated by other labs. We strive to create a better environment around us by creating mini green spaces with plants and flowers (especially in winter), partaking in energy saving measures that are also beneficial for our freezers’ longevity and function (creating aluminum bead and cold pack ballasts), and repurposing paper insulation/packing materials for relocation to NCRC.
