Ours is a molecular biology lab focusing on the identification of genes involved in the progression of both lung cancer and esophageal cancer and in chemo resistance of esophageal cancer. We routinely perform DNA, RNA, and protein isolations to use in real time PCR analysis and western blotting. We also use transection and transformation reactions to clone genes to be used in cell culture. We perform cell cycle analyses and cell viability assays to test the effects of chemotherapy drugs on human cells in vitro. {Originally certified gold: September 19, 2017}
