Dr. Marsh’s research focuses on uterine fibroids and reproductive health disparities. She seeks to understand the challenges of fibroids from a 360 degree perspective by investigating addressing their pathophysiology, their epidemiology, and clinical impact through a patient-centered lens. From a basic science perspective, she is interested in the extracellular matrix (ECM) and understanding the role of microRNA in the development of fibroid ECM. Clinically, she is interested in the interplay between obesity and glucose dysregulation and fibroid development. From the patient perspective, she seeks to understand drivers of patient knowledge around fibroids, as well as factors that guide patient outcomes and decision-making around treatment.
