Michigan Sea Grant

Originally certified as Gold in 2013, Michigan Sea Grant has been re-certified and exceeded their 2013 standing. The platinum office leaves overhead lights off using natural light on sunny days achieved gold certification. They purchase bulk tea to reduce packaging. Staff have piloted using personal hand towels for the office restroom. Giveaways are limited to reusable, recyclable or compostable items. 50% of the staff are certified Planet Blue Ambassadors. Commuting cyclists are encouraged to bring their bicycles into the building for workday storage. Walking or biking to work is common. The kitchen whiteboard and refrigerator are used to remind staff about sustainable behaviors.
