Orthotics and Prosthetics Fabrication Lab

The Orthotics & Prosthetics Lab fabricates custom braces “orthotics” and limbs “prosthetics” for patients referred to our facility. Each device requires multiple steps during the fabrication process from casting to completion – including, laminating fiberglass, carbon fiber, or thermoforming various foams and plastics. The O&P staff make every effort to minimize waste, reuse materials, and collect scrap foam, plastic, paper, and cardboard to be repurposed or recycled. Staff re-use 160 cardboard boxes each month. O&P has tracked plastic recycling of over 5,000lbs, since being recognized as a Sustainable Lab in 2017. {Previously certified gold: August 18, 2017}
