Orthopaedic Research Labs

Originally certified as Bronze in 2016, Orthopaedic Research Labs submitted a new self-assessment and moved up from bronze level to platinum level. Composting is in place and staff use reusable dishware and silverware in the breakroom. More than half of the staff are participating in the Commuter challenge in May and 3 use bikes as their primary mode of transportation. The group also created a walking goal to encourage higher step counts. Researchers keep fume hood sashes down when not in use to save energy. The team participates in many of the recycling programs such as snack wrapper, bottle cap, and dental products recycling. They also help encourage the recycling market by purchasing copy paper with recycled content. Over 65% of staff are certified Planet Blue Ambassadors.
