School of Social Work

Originally certified in 2014 at the silver level, the School of Social Work has recertified and attained platinum level certification. The school saved energy by removing the space heaters from the space in April. When the occupants felt they needed the heaters, the facility staff investigated the building and found over 70 air leaks. Most of the occupants no longer need the heaters. Bulk coffee, sugar and creamer help reduce waste in the kitchens. Composting is in all kitchens in the building. Refrigerators purchased are energy star. Over 50% of the staff are Planet Blue Ambassadors.
