Wolf Lab

This lab focuses on the regulation of the tubular ion channels such as the calcium channel TRPV5 and the magnesium channel TRPM6. In the laboratory, we study these channels in the context of hypercalciuric kidney stones and the effects of hypomagnesemia on metabolism. Another major topic in the laboratory are the causes and new therapeuticoptions for autosomal dominant tubulointerstitial kidney disease (ADTKD). Here, we have performed a high throughput screen with small molecules and work now on optimizing the best candidates.
